Mr Nieto currently works as a Consultant in Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, and also runs an outpatient clinic in James Paget Hospital. He is the clinical lead for the investigation and management of gynae cancer and colposcopy and abnormal smears. Jo Nieto practices in general gynaecology and specialises in colposcopy and the investigation and treatment of women with possible gynaecological cancer. Other specialist skills include advanced laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopy and vulval disease. Jo Nieto is the Training programme director for specialty of obstetrics an Gynaecology in the East of England as well as chairman of the training committee of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society. Jo Nieto trained in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London becoming a Clinical Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Free and University College Medical School, following which he completed subspecialty training programme in Gynaecological Oncology. Prior to taking his clinical lecturer appointment he carried out research into the possible link between infertily and ovarian cancer and possible precancerous ovarian lesions leading ovarian cancer.
